St Matts aspires to be a community of lifelong disciples of Jesus engaging our world with grace and truth. We also talk about this as finding our place, reaching our potential and fulfilling our purpose in Christ.
After 5 years of shaping our direction, a team of people, including staff, parish council, and other church members revisited the vision during 2024 to put flesh on what we would love to see in the coming years. The below describes what we envisage St Matts to be in 2028, written as if we were there now.

Hopeful people are prayerful people
Pray with us:
For an increase in St Matts’ community profile.
That we would grow from welcomers to adopters.
That we would be a church for all – intergenerational, multicultural, accessible, and supportive.
That we would be an increasingly healthy church.
For the raising up of leaders for children and youth ministry.
For 20 new children and youth to become part of St Matts.
That we would be intentional in growing through the means of grace, and that we would be sharing with each other how God is growing us.
That, when possible, we would be committed to participating in Community Groups and that our Community Groups would adopt a St Matts mission partner.
That God would grow our hearts for mission and our willingness to participate in supporting mission partners through short-term missions.
That our generosity to mission support would grow.
That St Matts would expand mission opportunities with local preschools, schools, and other organisations.
That God would raise up people to serve in our Seek Team.
For 10 people to come along to Seek courses each term.
