Giving

St Matts operates almost exclusively on the generosity of its members who seek to financially support the vision of our church. We do so because of God’s incredible generosity to us in Jesus. As a diverse community we understand that we all have different and often variable financial situations. We believe we are called to equal sacrifice not equal giving (2 Corinthians 8:13-15). As we grow in our understanding of God’s generosity to the world and to us, financial generosity to God’s work in the world is a source of joy. 

Ron has provided a biblical overview of money and possessions in this sermon. 

10% of all that is given to us is given to our mission partners. Many members give further to both our mission partners and to others engaged in God’s mission around the world. 

In addition to regular giving, each November, we have opportunity to bring offerings of thanks to support specific projects through our Thanksgiving Day appeal.
