Mission Partners

To live out our purpose in our world, St Matts sends out and partners with gospel workers around the globe. We are committed to raising up and sending out people from our church with the good news of Jesus, so that many people can come to know him. We consider our Mission Partners to be part of our church, and we partner with them prayerfully, practically and financially.

Susanna Baldwin

Wycliffe, Darwin

  • Susanna is working on a translation of the Bible for Indigenous Australians called the Plain English Version (PEV). The PEV is different from other English translations in its language features: for example, it has no passive voice, since most Indigenous Australian languages do not have passive voice, and it uses verbs and adjectives instead of most abstract nouns, since abstract nouns are rare in Australian languages. Susanna is also involved in supporting Indigenous Christians who are working to translate Scripture into their own languages.

Steve and Melinda McKerney

AFES, Perth

  • Steve works as an AFES Staff Worker and Chaplain at Murdoch University in Perth, where he is bringing the gospel to students, and helping them to grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus. Murdoch Christians United (MCU) is the student group on campus that Steve serves with, which helps equip Christian students to reach all of Murdoch University with the gospel of Christ. Melinda works as a High School Art teacher.

    Why Student Ministry?
University is a unique time of life for many young adults, where they are exploring who they are and making decisions about the rest of their lives. Student ministry seeks to equip Christian students to serve Jesus for the rest of their lives, and to reach non-Christian students on campus with the gospel of Jesus.
